What are gauze pads used for?

Gauze swabs are used for swabbing, cleaning and absorbing blood and fluids, for example when treating wounds, in the doctor's office or in the operating room.

What does RöKo mean for gauze swabs?

RöKo stands for X-ray contrast thread. This thread is visible in the X-ray image, which is why swabs with RöKo are primarily used in the operating room. For normal wound care, swabs without RöKo are sufficient.

Do I need sterile or non-sterile gauze pads?

You should use sterile swabs for treating open wounds and for procedures. Non-sterile swabs are suitable, for example, for cleaning intact skin or for activities where sterility is not necessary.

What do the sizes mean like walnut-sized or egg-sized?

The information describes the size of the formed swab, the value in cm the size of the piece of gauze before shaping. Smaller swabs are suitable for fine work, larger ones for more liquid.
