Crepe paper binding-BSN

Crepe Paper Bandage

Crepe paper bandage for pre-compressing padding material—keeps water containing gypsum away. Contains natural rubber latex.

Description

There must not be too much slack between the bandage and the limb, otherwise immobilization is compromised. That is why the padding material is pre-compressed under rigid and support bandages—and that is exactly what the crepe paper bandage is for. It has good interlayer adhesion and reliably compresses the padding material.

It also serves a second purpose: it prevents water containing gypsum from penetrating the padding material. The bandage is easy to use, can be torn by hand, and can be applied even to highly contoured body parts. It contains natural rubber latex, which may trigger allergies.

Key Features

• Good adhesion between layers; reliably compresses the padding material
• Prevents water containing plaster from penetrating the padding material
• Can be torn by hand
• Can also be applied to highly contoured body parts
• Contains natural rubber latex—not suitable for people with allergies
• Widths from 4 cm to 12 cm, 4 m in length

Applications

• Pre-compression of padding material under rigid and support bandages
• Pre-fixation of the extremities
• Can be worn for up to several weeks

Summary

A step that is easily overlooked: Without pre-compression, the cast will be too loose. The fact that the crepe paper bandage also keeps the immersion water away from the padding makes it the standard material in cast application.
