Description

Necrotic tissue and fibrin deposits are common barriers to the healing process of chronic wounds. In addition to mechanical or surgical debridement, they can also be removed autolytically—by supporting the wound’s self-cleansing process. The advantage of this method is that it is gentle on the tissue.

Cutimed Gel is a transparent, amorphous hydrogel designed specifically for this purpose. It continuously releases moisture to the wound, resulting in effective yet tissue-sparing debridement. High gel stability and viscosity ensure that the gel is easy to apply and remains securely in the wound; it can be rinsed out with normal saline or Ringer’s solution. Depending on the type and location of the wound, it is applied using the included applicator, a spatula, or directly from the tube.
